I am honoring Dr. Douglas Hamilton. He saw potential in me that I did not see in myself and had faith in my ability when others did not. He taught me to embrace the learning process and made me realize that research takes time, so enjoy the journey and the results will unfold along the way. His patience was infinite and his time unlimited. He took a chance on a young female grad student and turned her into a physicist. Thanks to his mentoring, I have a successful career that I love!
