Honoring Oskar Painter, Caltech

Submitted by Paul Barclay, University of Calgary

As a PhD supervisor Oskar Painter provided a lab where I learned the physics and photonics principles that propel my work on a near daily basis, and set a standard for research quality that I will always be pushing myself and my students to reach. Because of this experience I have the privilege of working in a field that is both creative and stimulating - something that I always grateful for.
