Ted Sargent's course on semiconductor devices and carrying out research in his group as an undergrad set me on my journey in integrated photonics. He gave me a lot of independence, and he has always been supportive of my questions, ideas, and career. Today, Ted remains a good friend and colleague. I continue to be inspired by his seemingly infinite capacity to expand his research program and yet also serve demanding administrative positions to make U of Toronto better for all. Thank you, Ted.
