Much of the past 20 plus years of my career has been enabled by the passion and mentoring from Dr. Carl Johnson, Founder and former CEO and Chairman of II-VI Incorporated. When Carl led an acquisition of a former company, he found time to mentor me over a decade on how to transition from being a high level materials scientist to a scientist that has a skill set to adapt to the business aspects of corporate boards, M&A skills, and corporate leadership. This mentoring transitioned my career.
