I worked for/with Andy for 8 years. He was and is my boss, my advisor, my collaborator and my friend. I would have worked for/with him forever if the tacit rules of our academic world were not so strong about "achieving independence" as the main metric for "success". I would have liked it...because it was such a pleasure the daily interaction with Andy's brilliant mind....analytical and precise about every detail and yet creative and inventive like no other.
