Honoring Hermann Haken

I was fortunate enough to have met Prof. Haken in the right time of my career when I was a first year graduate student in 1982 and Prof. Haken was invited for his first trip to China. After my MS degree, he invited me to visit his group in Stuttgart for three months which eventually became a PhD study in his group. I am forever grateful for the precious opportunity he provided me, the great freedom I enjoyed in his group, and his great insight and foresight as a mentor and scientist.
