As I was finishing my PhD in physics, I became interested in transitioning to a more biomedical research direction. David took a big chance taking me into his lab to work on a neurophysiology problem with absolutely zero experience in biological research. I essentially retrained as a neuroscientist in his lab and this has become an essential foundation to my own research now. David's willingness to take this chance on me will be long remembered and appreciated.
