Honoring Thomas Bensky
California Polytechnic State University

Submitted by Sanjay University of Virginia

I had Professor Tom Bensky for introductory and advanced electronics, quantum, and optics laboratory at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I vividly remember his optics class because he handed a sheet of paper on day 1 with a list of questions asking us to explain phenomena we observe everyday (i.e. why are sunsets red, why do airports use blue lights to guide airplanes landing at night, etc) and proceeded to answer every questions as we progressed through the course. Thanks Tom for making physics fun!
