Honoring Mark A. Linne

I first met Mark Linne almost 20 years ago in Golden, CO; the first question he asked me was why I wanted to get a PhD. I didn't realize until I served on my first faculty search committee how lucky I was to have Mark as my advisor and mentor. Mark put a lot of thought and energy preparing his students for their future careers. He prepared me well for a faculty position, and he prepared other students well for their chosen tracks. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor.
