Bob Hilbert is the reason I became an optical specialist. He was the first person I had ever worked with in the optics field. His passion for optics and his passion for excellence drew me in. I have never looked back. We did wonderful work together for many years for which I am very grateful. He was a fine mentor and a wonderful leader. He was bright, energetic, often intense. He delivered integrity and standards to live by that have only been matched by precious few. Thank you Bob!
