Marty Fejer is one of the most brilliant scientists whom I have met. During my time as a graduate student in his group, I greatly benefited from his guidance and good humor. Countless students and postdocs from many other research groups at Stanford and elsewhere also seek him out for advice. He will always either provide the solution or make one ask a better question leading to the desired result. All those who have had occasion to work with him are better off for having done so.
