I got my start in scientific research in Dave Reitze's lab as a sophomore in college working on temporal shaping of femtosecond laser pulses. The one constant in my research career so far has been the use of these exact same laser systems! Dave was always a patient mentor who not only helped me do well in research in his lab and academics in college but also helped me prepare for the next career phases. I was lucky to have him as my first mentor.
