the 2014 Enabled by Optics Contest

What Will I Win?
Fame and Fortune!

  1. Your video will be featured at an awards ceremony at OSA’s Annual Meeting, Frontiers in Optics.
  2. Extensive promotion of your winning video using OSA communication channels:
    1. OSA.org (homepage, media library, industry resources, YouTube, etc.)
    2. OSA e-newsletters (Industry Newsmakers, individual member newsletter, corporate newsletter, Optics Legislative Network, etc.)
    3. Press Releases to consumer press and optics & photonics trade press plus a multi-media press release featuring your video
    4. Emails to OSA customers
  3. Video presentation shown at appropriate OSA events – this could include Educator’s Day, Capitol Hill Programs, OSA Booth at Industry Shows, etc.
  4. Circulation to K-12 educators as a resource to excite the next generation of scientists and engineers.
  5. Exposure to policy makers to educate them about the impact optics has on society, business, the economy, jobs, etc.
All submissions will be posted to a public online library available as a resource to the optics community, educators, policy makers, and consumers to increase awareness of optics as an enabling technology by featuring its lesser known role in products which are well known to the general public.

The submitters of the selected student video will win $500.
