Young Professional Recognition

Annual Outstanding OSA Young Professional Volunteer Recognition

The Optical Society invites OSA Young Professionals to submit an application for the 2014 "Outstanding Service by an OSA Young Professional Volunteer" recognition.  First awarded in 2012, this honor recognizes significant contributions made by OSA Young Professional (YP) volunteers through their participation in the YP Program.

The recognition is presented annually during the February OSA Winter Leadership Meeting to an applicant judged to be an outstanding example of the Young Professionals Program.  The recipient will receive a certificate, travel reimbursement to attend the meeting and an invitation to participate in the Member & Education Services Council meeting. View the application form for further details.

To be eligible for the recognition, individuals must be a current member of OSA and an active participant in the OSA Young Professionals Program for at least one year. Individuals may self-nominate by submitting the application, which includes a brief essay that describes Young Professional Program volunteer activities performed over the last 12 months and the positive outcomes that are directly related to the applicant’s volunteerism.

Applications will be accepted until 17 November 2013. Two references are required. See the reference submission form for details. Questions? Email
