Peter Delfyett (University of Central Florida, CREOL) and Anthony Johnson (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) served as Best Poster Presentation judges on behalf of the Optical Society (OSA) and SPIE at the Joint Meeting of the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) and the National Society of Hispanic Physicists (NSHP), last month in Austin, Texas.

The Renewable Energy & the Environment: OSA Optics and Photonics Congress provides a forum where speakers present the latest results in the energy/environment arena ranging from solar energy research to photovoltaic applications.

New Enterprise Associates venture partner and former Sun Microsystems CTO Greg Papadopoulos is set to give a keynote presentation at the plenary session of the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC/NFOEC), taking place in Los Angeles March 4–8, 2012.
