Watson Research Center in New York, had brought some turkey with him to work. The difference between Srinivasan and everyone else was that the scientist had no plans to eat the leftovers. He was planning to fire a laser at them!

    OSA and the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG) are proud to announce the 2014 Herbert Walther Award will be presented to Massimo Inguscio of the University of Florence, Italy for groundbreaking experiments in modern atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics, from spectroscopy of metastable helium to Anderson localization of ultra-cold atoms, and for his scientific leadership world-wide.
