A team of Belgian researchers reports progress on this front with what may be the first optical circuit that uses interconnections that are not only bendable, but also stretchable.

Members of The Optical Society (OSA) who were in Washington this week for their annual Leadership Meeting heard from one of the top leaders in Congress on policy issues affecting the optics and photonics community.

In support of its mission to inspire future optics innovators, The OSA Foundation sponsored an “Optics Suitcase” demonstration for students in a Washington middle school this week.

Now doctors may soon have a new technique to help them sort the good sperm cells from the less viable ones: a tracking system, developed by a team of researchers from four European institutions, that takes 3-D movies of living sperm.
