The Optical Society to Host Incubator Meeting on Illumination Optics

Introduce new networking opportunities and collaborative techniques in the field of illumination optics

WASHINGTON – The Optical Society (OSA) will host an Illumination Optics Incubator meeting 15-17 November at OSA’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. This Incubator welcomes diverse professionals in the illumination optics field including, scientists in optical design theory and optimization, engineers in optical design and software, manufacturers of injection molded optical parts and metallized reflectors and LED manufacturers and system integrators.

“Thousands of engineers worldwide design optics for the growing illumination industry every day,” said Groot Gregory, technical marketing director at Synopsys and meeting host. “This meeting will bring together a thriving community of engineers to learn the complete value chain of those in illumination optics.”

The hosts hope to grow a rich community of scientists in optical design theory and optimization, engineers in optical design and software, manufacturers of injection molded optical parts and metallized reflectors, LED manufacturers and system integrators. Featured topics will include networking and collaborative exercises to advance the industry and strategies to fill the cooperation gap between industry and researchers in academia.
