The Optical Society CEO Delivers Centennial Remarks at Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis
Elizabeth Rogan, CEO of The Optical Society (OSA), discussed a century of innovation in the science of light and the Society at the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis. The biennial event draws the global laser community of researchers and industry, as well as politicians and other societal figures. Rogan focused on the connection of the German science community and the founding of OSA 100 hundred years ago. She also highlighted optics discoveries and OSA members role in research and development through the decades.
The Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis (innovation prize) honors scientists and developers who make advancements in the field of laser technology. The biennial award is one of the highest remunerated international innovation prizes for laser technology. A jury of science and industry experts selects three recipients for excellence in research and development work on the application or generation of laser light. The prizes total €60,000 that can be spent at the discretion of the winner.
