Science Societies Urge Transition to Appoint S&T Advisor
CEOs from 29 science and engineering societies, including OSA CEO Elizabeth Rogan, asked President-Elect Trump to appoint an Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to manage science policy in the new administration. This science advisor should be a “nationally respected leader with appropriate engineering, scientific, management and policy skills” to assist the White House in “determining effective ways to use science and technology to address major national challenges,” the group noted.
