The Optical Society to Host an Incubator Meeting on Optical Biosensors for Medical Diagnostics

Leaders from academia, industry and government to discuss recent research and development of optical biosensors for applications in medical diagnostics

WASHINGTON – The Optical Society (OSA) will host an incubator meeting on Optical Biosensors for Medical Diagnostics on Monday, 9 November and Tuesday, 10 November at the OSA headquarters. The purpose of this incubator meeting will be to explore the latest research behind the development of optical biosensors for medical applications. Participants will work to address the challenges in the commercialization of optical biosensors, discuss the future of optical biosensors for point-of-care applications, and weigh the pros and cons of label-free vs. labeled optical biosensors.  The incubator meeting will feature discussion topics  surrounding novel materials, optical biosensing techniques, surface functionalization methodologies, single-molecule detection, drug delivery, health care, food analysis, environmental monitoring, defense and security, proteomics, intracellular sensing, applications in genomics, and point-of-care and lab-on-a-chip devices.

WHAT: Optical Biosensors for Medical Diagnostics
WHEN: Monday, 9 November 2015 and Tuesday, 10 November 2015
