The Optical Society Launches New Website
OSA.org features enhancements, new content to better connect the optics and photonics community
WASHINGTON, July 20—The Optical Society (OSA) today announced the launch and redesign of OSA.org—the society’s home Web resource for those in the optics and photonics community. The new OSA.org includes expanded content and enhancements designed to make the site more user-friendly and informative for OSA members and others wishing to learn about OSA, OSA’s products and services, or optics and photonics.
Specifically, new website features include:
- Quick links to the most-read articles in Optics InfoBase—OSA’s online library for its flagship, partnered and co-published journals—providing instant access to breakthrough research in OSA’s peer-reviewed journals.
- New and improved customer service section, designed to simplify and expedite responses to user inquiries, and provide timely information about OSA journals, meetings, programs and initiatives.
- Access to relevant information by technical topic areas within the optics and photonics field, so users can quickly locate items of interest.
- New Corporate Gateway portal, where members of the corporate optics and photonics community can easily find information on industry resources and services from OSA.
- New About Optics section, providing educational background information about the science of light to a general audience.
- Expanded benefits for users based outside of the United States, including welcome pages translated in six languages, and expanded customer service information and hours.
- “ShareThis” button available on all sections of the website to allow easy bookmarking and content-sharing on more than 300 social media platforms.
“When redesigning our new website, the goal was to create a dynamic, content-rich site to keep users coming back for the latest information in optics and photonics,” said Elizabeth Rogan, OSA CEO. “We are pleased to unveil all of the new features and enhancements, and look forward to serving the optical community with this new resource.”
