OSA's Optics & Photonics News Receives
Gold EXCEL Award

WASHINGTON, June 22—The Optical Society of America's (OSA) monthly news magazine, Optics & Photonics News (OPN), has received the Society of National Association Publications' (SNAP) Gold EXCEL Award in the category of "Web site—Special Members Area."

OPN's Web site – www.osa-opn.org – was redesigned in 2006 with a brand new look, layout and user-friendly features.

SNAP judges said the following about the award-winning Web site: "The OPN Web site is attractive, professional and easy to navigate. Lots of strong editorial content and online extras. Good use of interesting photos throughout. Clean, consistent layout for articles, so user is quickly comfortable and knows what to expect at every click."

SNAP's annual EXCEL competition recognizes and rewards the exemplary work of association publishers. The program judges more than 1,000 magazines, newsletters, scholarly journals, electronic publications and Web sites in areas such as editorial quality, design and general excellence.  For more information about SNAP, visit www.snaponline.org/.
