Newport Expands Edge-Grip Mount Offering
Irvine, CA – June 8, 2015 – Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in photonic solutions, expands its popular Edge Grip offering with the introduction of the M1-1D mount for D-shaped mirrors. Newport’s innovative Edge Grip mounting design, also found on the recently released HM Series mounts, uses a patent-pending mechanism to grip an optic’s bottom edge so that the top and sides are completely unobscured.
The M1-1D is primarily designed to hold and position D-shaped mirrors but can also be used to hold other types of optics including lens arrays, gratings or beam samplers. The Edge Grip design accommodates up to 1-in. (25.4-mm) round or square optics ranging from 0.079-in. (2-mm) to 0.32-in. (8.1-mm) thick. Two precision 100-TPI adjustment screws provide exceptionally smooth, high-resolution tilt adjustment up to +/- 4°.
