Program Editor

Administrative Specialist, Sales
Prestigious international scientific society is looking for a Sales Administration Specialist. Candidate is responsible for coordinating database and financial functions for pre and post Convention Sales office operations. Will coordinate post-sale fulfillment of all sponsorship benefits, ad trafficking, and trade details, including the collection and communication of specifications and deadlines, artwork and materials, print production orders and shipping arrangements. Maintains detailed tracking mechanisms for all tradeshows. Coordinates RFP process for all sales-related outsourced services and serves as the primary liaison with vendors. Responds to inbound sales lead queries for sponsorship, meeting space and advertising.
Successful candidate will have 3-5 years tradeshow experience, association experience preferred. Supervisory experience required. Ability to travel required. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office. College degree preferred. Experience with ACT or other contact management software packages, ExpoCad or other space-draw programs, InDesign, and Photoshop a plus.

Director, Publications Sales
Prestigious international scientific society seeks a highly experienced individual to direct new-sales program in thriving publications portfolio.
Successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of new sales efforts for all library and corporate publication subscription sales. Will provide input to new business development initiatives aimed at increasing revenues (e.g. market research studies). Will work collaboratively to develop and secure consortia sales prospects. Will provide feedback from librarian and corporate community regarding trends affecting current and prospective customers.
Successful candidate will have B.A. preferably in either business/marketing or library science. Sales success in the science/technical/medical arena/engineering, especially STM book sales, preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to travel required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Deputy Senior Director, Conventions & Meetings
Prestigious international scientific society is looking for a Deputy Senior Director, Conventions & Meetings. Successful candidate will advise Senior Director on budget, contract and operational issues. Manage 8+ staff responsible for planning and organizing scientific topical meetings and annual conferences. Execute departmental and organizational long-rang plans and objectives. Oversee the planning and successful execution of OSA’s scientific topical meetings and annual conferences (ranging from 100 to 12,000 attendees). Assist in developing and managing financial responsibilities and other non-dollar benchmarking. Personnel related issues, including supervision, coaching and professional development of department staff.
Successful candidate will have a four-year college degree. Master’s degree is preferred. 7+ years expertise with all aspects of planning meetings, conferences and exhibits, & 4-5 years experience in association management. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel is required. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Strong focus on team-building. Strong skills as coach and mentor.

Computer Support Specialist
Do you have solid computer support skills and a desire to work in a challenging and rewarding technical environment? Prestigious international scientific society established in 1916 offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow both technically and professionally in a progressive organization. Responsibilities include providing computer software and hardware support in a network environment of Windows XP Professional and Macintosh workstations and laptops, with Windows 2003 servers and HP LaserJet printers, providing network help desk services including installing and troubleshooting hardware and software, performing A/V setups and maintaining the hardware inventory. Software environment includes Microsoft Office 2003, Exchange 2003 and Outlook, web browsers and tools, and Visual Basic and SQL Server database tools.
Successful candidate will have strong people skills, administrative, organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. Must have experience with Windows XP and Mac OS X, and Office 2003. Experience with Office 2007 is a plus. 1-2 years of experience in a Microsoft-based LAN environment & college degree preferred.
