Coalition Partners

OSA partners with several other scientific, university and business organizations to achieve our common goal of advancing scientific research, education and innovation. These coalitions allow us to pool our resources, creating a stronger influence on policy makers, industry leaders and interested parties. Current partnerships include:

Coalition for National Security Research (CNSR) – CNSR is a broad coalition united by a commitment to a strong defense science and technology base. The Coalition strongly supports Department of Defense Science and Technology programs across all defense organizations, especially those performed at our nation's universities. These research programs bridge fundamental scientific discoveries and future military applications. In addition, they provide for the education and training of our nation's future engineers and scientists. CNSR urges policy makers to strengthen the nation's investment in DoD's S&T programs, as they are vital to our nation's technological superiority in the 21st century.

Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF) – The largest coalition OSA participates in, CNSF supports the goal of increasing the national investment in the National Science Foundation's (NSF) research and education programs in response to the unprecedented scientific, technological and economic opportunities facing the U. S.

Science, Engineering, Technology Working Group (SETWG) – SETWG is an information network concerned about the future vitality if the United States science, mathematics and engineering enterprises. Each year the coalition plans and promotes a Congressional Visits Day, bringing scientists, engineers, researchers, educators and technology executives to Washington, DC to raise visibility and support for science, engineering and technology.

Energy Sciences Coalition (ESC) – The ESC is a broad based coalition of organizations who are committed to supporting and advancing scientific research programs of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and in particular, the DOE Office of Science. The ESC urges policy makers to recognize the important and unique role played by the DOE in maintaining our nation's scientific infrastructure and in ensuring U.S. world leadership across a broad range of scientific disciplines.

Alliance for Science and Technology Research in America (ASTRA) – ASTRA's mission is to ensure that there is an adequate, and growing, investment by the Federal government in basic research in the physical sciences, the mathematical and computational sciences, and engineering. They work to educate and inform policy makers and the general public about the relationship between R&D investments and resulting benefits to the U.S.

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education Coalition – The STEM Education Coalition works to raise awareness in Congress, the Administration and other organizations about the critical role that STEM Education plays in enabling the U.S. to remain the economic and technological leader of the global marketplace. The Coalition advocates for strengthening STEM-related programs and increased federal investments in STEM education.
