DBIS

OSA has partnered with the American Institute of Physics (AIP) to develop television news segments on the latest advances in optics and photonics. This program, called Discoveries and Breakthroughs Inside Science (DBIS), is designed to help raise awareness of the role basic science plays in breakthrough technological advances that impact everyday life. Geared toward members of the general public, these segments run on local TV stations nationwide.

View the latest optics and photonics DBIS segments.

Members – Request these segments for educational outreach.

Ideal resources for members working with pre-college students, these segments are available free of charge.

All segments, including those that focus on disciplines other than optics and photonics, can be accessed online and DVDs of individual segments may be requested by emailing mediarelations@ osa.org.

For more information on this program or to suggest story ideas, please contact Angela Stark, +1 202.416.1443, mediarelations@osa.org.
