Photonic Networks and Devices (Networks)

Photonic devices and networking concepts drive the scaling and performance of future networks for next-gen applications.

Networks unites researchers and engineers from diverse fields intersecting with photonic networks in modern applications. These new applications and network architectures not only propel but also rely on innovations in optical transmission and photonic devices.

This gathering unites researchers and engineers from diverse fields intersecting with photonic networks in modern applications. These new applications and network architectures not only propel but also rely on innovations in optical transmission and photonic devices.

Increasing demands for bandwidth, flexibility, programmability, resilience, security, cost-effectiveness, integration, functionality, energy efficiency and compactness call for inventive solutions in photonic networks and devices. Novel management approaches within software-defined networking frameworks are essential for efficient and dynamic programmability of virtualized network resources. Additionally, addressing the sustainability of optical networks is crucial.

This topical meeting focuses on nurturing research supporting the scaling and performance needs of emerging applications. These include spectrally and spatially multiplexed systems, data centers, cloud infrastructure, high-performance computing and content delivery.
