The NCS/OSA holds meetings 8 months during the Section year which extends from July through the next June. The meeting schedule excludes December, June, July and August. The last meeting of our year, in May, is our primary business meeting at which we hold elections for officers. At that meeting we invite the Science Fair students (and a parent or sponsor for each) who have been selected by our judges as winners at each of the regional Science Fairs to attend the dinner and meeting as our guests. They bring their exhibits in optics and we have a chance to meet them and discuss their work before the meeting. In addition we have an outstanding speaker addressing a topic of current interest in optics
There is no restriction on who may attend our meetings. However, non-members must pay an extra $2.00 if they want to attend the dinner. If they decline the dinner, they may attend the lecture at no charge.
