OSA Announces Editorial Board for New Photonics Research Journal

Photonics Reserach coverWASHINGTON, Feb. 19, 2013 – The Optical Society (OSA) today announced the editorial board members for Photonics Research, its newest peer-reviewed, open-access journal in partnership with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM) and Chinese Laser Press (CLP). The international editorial board, led by Editor-in-Chief Zhiping (James) Zhou of Peking University in China and Deputy Editor Michael Fiddy of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, is comprised of leading optics and photonics researchers from around the world.

The Photonics Research editorial board will invite and select   original research and review articles on optics and photonics—from basic to applied research— submitted by research teams around the world.  Associate editors will set the editorial tone for the journal by taking primary responsibility for timely peer review of manuscripts submitted to the journal. They will also provide guidance and direction in the development and operations of the new journal.

“We are thrilled to have such an accomplished editorial board taking the helm at Photonics Research,” said OSA’s Chief Publishing Officer Elizabeth Nolan. “This international team of research professionals is poised to provide the community with highly compelling optics and photonics research—especially work being reported in China. We look forward to continued collaboration with our partners at SIOM and CLP as we prepare our first issue of Photonics Research.”
